| The growth in online poker continues at pace with
888 /
Pacific Poker the latest publicly listed online cardroom
to announce a growth in player numbers and revenue.
The Internet Gaming Group 888 Plc has reported a strong 1st
quarter performance for 2006 with poker margins for March up 66%
year on year.
Average revenue received from each active poker player in the
quarter was $162 - up 4% on the same figure for Q4 2005.
Pacific Poker has recently made it possible for players to
multi-table. In the past each user was limited to playing one
table at a time. The move should bring an anticipated rise in
rakes.
The online poker room also continues special promotions to
attract new players. A sign up bonus is currently available -
while seats to the 2006 WSOP main event are also still up for
grabs.
The 888 Casino side of the business continues to prosper too.
During the first quarter of 2006 revenue from each active casino
player was $552 - up 32% on the 4th quarter of 2005.
